Your vehicle features a cooling system that prevents
parts from overheating and damaging other very important components.
When the coolant in your engine reaches a certain temperature, the thermostat "opens" allowing
hot coolant to flow through various hoses to the radiator, where it cools
off and returns to the engine. Because pressure builds up in the cooling
system as the engine warms up, the radiator cap needs to be in perfect condition
and must not be opened under any circumstances whatsoever when the engine
is hot.
The transmission fluid that maintains a constant pressure inside
the transmission while cooling and lubricating its components,
needs to be flushed every 50,000 km. All gaskets and seals should be inspected
regularly by your technician.
The air conditioning system components – compressor,
condenser, evaporator, thermal receiver-dryer, accumulator, hoses and refrigerant – should
be inspected yearly as well.
